Monkeypox
Typography - 2022
Monkeypox is a typeface that resides in obscurity. Mixed with its satirical flair and its crystal clear visual inaccessibility, it offers a nearly purposeless existence.
When tasked to create something unique and legible, I decided to do the opposite. This font challenges the disciplines of typography and offers a departure from a rather regulated form of design.
It was with a simple idea, I’d sketch legs and arms from stock imagery of people and make them into a typeface. As I planned, it became abject and unsettling.
